All signs are mainly to help the users in finding their way to and from a destination and to make their building more user friendly whilst communicating a design and thought that reflects their caring attitude and portraying an identity.
Signs should be clear and legible to people with impaired sight. Plain Letters and pictograms should be used to assist people with learning difficulties.
They are one of the first contacts a person has with an organization they aid orientation around the building.
Appropriate signs should be provided indicating lifts, stairs, circulation routes and other parts of the building in addition to the requisite safe condition and mandatory signs.
Where special information signs are required it may be necessary to use a larger lettering size than normal to assist the partially sighted in addition to the tactile facility and the Braille legend.
